Why should I have cupcakes instead of a traditional wedding cake?
Having cupcakes for your wedding is a trendy and more affordable alternative to the traditional wedding cake. Flavors can be customized and the frosting and decorations can be coordinated with your wedding colors. You also won’t have to worry about having people cut and plate slices from a large cake (some venues have a “per slice” cutting fee).
What do I need to do to book my wedding?
A non-refundable retainer (50% of your order total) is needed to secure your date. You can pay with a credit card through PayPal (even if you don’t have a PayPal account) or cash. We do not accept personal checks. The balance of your order must be paid in full three weeks prior to your date. You can pay the balance all at once or make payments; whatever works best for you.
How far in advance do you need to know flavor choices and numbers?
Once your deposit is paid, your wedding is considered “booked” and is on our calendar. We don’t need your final payment, final numbers and flavors until three weeks prior to your date.
What are your wedding cupcake prices and flavors?
There is no difference in pricing and flavors.
Filled cupcakes are an extra $5 per dozen cupcakes.
You may choose multiple flavors for your cupcakes at no extra charge; however, we caution wedding parties to choose fewer than 5 flavors. When presented with too many choices, guests often choose to sample more than one flavor, raising your overall quantity. 90% of weddings usually choose two to four flavors.
Our standard cupcake toppings are included in the price above. Cupcake toppers may be provided by the bride and we will place on the cupcakes at no additional charge. The bride may also provide specialty cupcake wrappers or liners to match the wedding at her own expense.
Cupcake wrappers are different from cupcake liners. Cupcake wrappers are an additional decoration that is wrapped around the cupcake liner.
What if I am on a really tight budget?
Talk to us. We will work with you to try and fit within your budget.
Do you do cakes?
Traditional wedding cakes, no.
Do you do tastings?
We do provide tastings and do it a bit different than the norm. For $30 we will provide 1 dozen cupcakes, up to 3 flavors, that you can pick up when it is convenient for you. You can then taste in your own home with as many people involved as you like. We realize that it is difficult with busy schedules to get together at one time for a traditional tasting and find that take-away cupcakes works!
Should you book with us, the $30 tasting fee will be deducted from your total. E-mail us to discuss the flavors you’d like to try and a pick-up date/time.
Will you deliver and set up?
We have found that most weddings already have a table or area planned for the desserts and have a specific way to display them. However, we may deliver and set up if needed (there will be a fee involved). Discuss this with us.
How does payment work?
A non-refundable retainer of 50% of your order total is required at the time of your initial booking. This holds your date so we won’t schedule anything else for that week. Final payment in full, final flavors and final numbers are due three weeks prior to your event date. Additional cupcakes added after this time will be billed separately and payment for those will be due at pick-up. If final payment in full is not received three weeks prior to your date, we will not fulfill your order. We gladly accept payments any time between your initial booking date and three weeks prior to your event, at which time total payment must be complete.
My wedding is 2+ hours away. Will the cupcakes travel well?
If kept in a well air-conditioned vehicle, away from direct sunlight, you should have no problems traveling to your event. Cupcake containers should be stacked level and no more than two high and kept flat. Generally this means in the back of an SUV or van with the seats folded down or removed. Your wedding cupcakes should not travel in the bed of a pickup or in a vehicle without air-conditioning, especially here in Arizona. Even the smallest incline, like sitting on the back seat, can cause the cupcakes to tip. Care must be taken when transporting as sharp turns and bumps (even the smallest bump) can dislodge cupcakes from their holders and cause them to tip. ONCE THEY ARE LOADED INTO YOUR CAR, WE ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY MISHAPS.
What do we need to know before picking our cupcakes up?
Your cupcakes will be boxed one dozen per box. If you order 200 cupcakes, that could mean 17 cupcake containers. Be sure you have vehicle space for them, stacked level, no more than two high. Again, this generally means in the back of an SUV or van with the seats folded down or removed. See above question for complete transportation information. Cupcakes should be kept in a cool room until ready to set on the display table.
** IN ARIZONA HEAT, THE FROSTING WILL SOFTEN VERY QUICKLY AND MAY BEGIN TO MELT AND SLIDE OFF THE TOP OF THE CUPCAKE IF THE VEHICLE IS NOT WELL AIR-CONDITIONED, THE CUPCAKES ARE IN DIRECT SUNLIGHT, OR HAS NOT COOLED DOWN SUFFICIENTLY WHEN YOU PICK UP YOUR CUPCAKES. ONCE THEY ARE LOADED INTO YOUR CAR, WE ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY MISHAPS. **
How should we store our cupcakes prior to our event?
If your cupcakes have buttercream frosting and no filling, it is okay to store them at room temperature in their containers for a few hours, provided that the room they are in is cool and they are not in direct sunlight.
If you have cupcakes that have a filling (fruit fillings excluded) or cream cheese frosting, these will need to be refrigerated until about 30 minutes prior to serving.
What should we do with the extra cupcakes at the end of our event?
You or someone you designate will be responsible for packing up any cupcakes or other desserts we provide that are not eaten by the end of your event. Cupcakes can be placed back into the original clamshells they were provided in and zip top bags will work for brownies, cookies, breads, etc. For longer cupcake storage, you may wish to place them in an air-tight container. You can even freeze them in the clamshells for a few weeks.
Do you have cupcake stands we can rent?
Depending on what you are looking for, we may be able to provide stands.
However, there are websites that have tiered cupcake stands that can be purchased inexpensively. These can be covered with paper to coordinate with your event and coordinating ribbon, beading or gathered tulle can be attached around the edges.
Google search “cupcake stands” to see all the varieties there are.
